![]() There's been a lot of series influenced by the basic "violent anti-hero takes care of a child" over the years and this manga is pretty influential in regards to that trope. Ogami is a pretty stern and serious man who isn't above killing to make a living, but has a soft spot for his son. ![]() He also brought along his child, Daigoro, who begins as a little baby riding a carriage who sometimes helps him fight though indirectly. I really should get a hold of the Dark Horse collection when I get some money since I heard it's great.Īnyway, for those of you who don't know the series chronicles a former Shogunate Executioner Ogami Itto who after being framed by the Ura-Yagyu clan becomes a ronin/assassin-for-hire traveling on the "demon path". I remember seeing references to this manga series in a ton of anime throughout the years such as Gintama and there was probably a Yu-Gi-Oh reference to it at some point, and HBO Max has the series of six films produced in the 70s. ![]()
